Yes God does test us. He proves us to see if we are ready to go to the next level. If my kid turns 17 I cant just give him a car and say go drive. He has to pass a written exam go through a trial period and then when he believes he is ready get in the car and pass a driving test. God will test our will (his over ours) or obedience just as he did Abraham. Our faith as Job was tested. Afert all he did give Satan permission to do what he did. Our hearts are also tested as was Moses. The test is not for God, he knows all things. The test is for us to see were we fall short (let every man examine him-self) and self correct.

Hello Aaron, Everyone fails and gets up and tries again. But GOD said His yoke is easy and usually are the test. As Jesus also tested his apostle Phillip in John 6:5-6. But it more than a test; it was a lesson for in verse 10 He ask that all the men sit down and then Jesus prayed over what they had and did His work or as others would say miracle. But it is His work and Gods will. The test was how are you going to do it? Well of course in this ordeal there is no way what they had would feed all these people, even if they could of found a way to even buy what was needed. Always GOD ask us to stop what we are doing and realize He is GOD and by stopping to do this GOD does the work. It is hard to figure at times when we need to stop what we are doing and follow this simple way of what GOD ask of us. Just so He can do His work and we can see He is GOD. We always think we know what GOD wants us to do. But we forget about the part that He is GOD and we need to stop and let Him do things. In part we do not fail ever if we stop and pray to GOD to do His will and not do as we want instead.
Any way wanted to throw a comment to your blog here. Nice to see someone see's the testings of GOD in a proper manner.

[...] Since we are so easily seduced and led astray how do we fight? We must not make provision for sin in our lives. Don’t go looking for sin. Don’t put yourself in a position where you will be sure to face temptation. Have you ever gone looking for sin? Did you just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time when you found your self ‘suddenly’ overwhelmed? Do not seek out sin and the idols of the world. “For why should you, my son, be exhilarated with an adulteress and embrace the bosom of a foreigner? For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He watches all his paths. His own iniquities will capture the wicked, and he will be held with the cords of his sin. He will die for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his filly he will go astray.” Proverbs 5:20-23 Think of the imagery that Solomon is presenting in Proverb. How does Solomon’s own legacy bring home this idea of an adulterer? David, Solomon’s own father, committed adultery with Bathsheba. [...]
