When you get up in the morning do you haphazardly grab garments with no thought of what you are wearing? Are you motivated to wear attractive garments so that you will fit in to the societal norm? Will you wear shorts in the middle of a bitter winter storm? Would a warm and comfortable wool sweater be helpful in the midst of a hot summer rain? We always wear garments that are sensible for the seasons and weather where we currently live. In the same way we wear spiritual garments. Do you know what kind of spiritual garments you wear? Are you sensibly dressed? How do we look spiritually to the people around us? Continue Reading…
What garments do you clothe yourself with: Psalm 109
Simple perseverance and its effect on legacy: Psalm 102
In distress what do we do? Do we call out to God or do we run to the house of cards that we have built up to find deliverance. Have the circumstances of life left you helpless and hopeless? In the moments that we are faced with overwhelming distress and despair we must remember that God alone is our hope and help. Our dependance upon God’s faithfulness that carries us through the difficult moments of life is a testimony to God’s ultimate deliverance. “This will be written for the generation to come, that a people yet to be created may praise the Lord. For He looked down from His holy height; from heaven the Lord gazed upon the earth, to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to set free those who were doomed to death, that men may tell of the name of the Lord in Zion and His praise in Jerusalem, when the peoples are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the Lord.” Psalm 102:18-22 Continue Reading…
Find hope in God’s unwavering faithfulness: Psalm 78
When you tell someone your testimony do you sugarcoat the story to make it more palatable and interesting to the people listening? What benefit do all the details both good and bad have in our testimony? When foolishness abounds as the wicked prosper: Psalm 52
Take heed to the words of Psalm 52. What do you boast in? Do you a boast in God alone or are you boasting and delighting in the pervasive evil of this world? When you build up your wealth and possessions do you choose to stand upon them with your hands extended proclaiming what you have accomplished? David is sending a message to everyone who boast in anything but the God of heaven and earth. If you choose to boast in the things of this world you will be brought low by God and all your accumulations will be meaningless. We are unable to cut our own path to our own salvation. We need to fall before the cross of calvary and cray our for God’s intercession and deliverance. Fear God and find your hope in Him for men can take away your possessions and your life itself but only God is the one who will cast people into everlasting torment in hell. Continue Reading…
What is in your history: Testimony 0.5
Who are you? How do you define yourself? Are you defined by your relationship with Jesus Christ? I shared my testimony at church yesterday. Why is our testimony important? Does our testimony have any value if our faith and actions do not match to the events of life that we claim define who we are?
As I was preparing to give testimony I spent a lot of time looking retrospectively on my life. It was important to remember where I came from and the people and events that shaped my life. I would like to share with you what I shared with my church family yesterday. I believe that my testimony will always change as I grow to know God and experience His work in and through me. Glory to God for what He has done
Well time has gotten away from me and before I knew it it was friday night. I gave my testimony in church this last sunday. It was a great time where God was glorified. I expressed to the people all the different illnesses that I have had over the last 5 years. It was great to proclaim that God is fully in control of everything in my life. He is to be praised for all that he has done.
I read my blog titled “What’s in a foot?” out loud because I know that it is a perfect way to express everything that I have dealt with and the mindset that I have. When I read the part about my dad I started to choke up and tears ran down my face. Continue Reading…
