Who can dwell apart from God: Isaiah 33 and 34

Will you delight? Will you seek? Will you hear? Will you see? Will you? “O LORD, be gracious to us; we wait for you. Be our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble. At the tumultuous noise peoples flee; when you lift yourself up, nations are scattered, and your spoil is gathered as the caterpillar gathers; as locusts leap, it is leapt upon. The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness, and he will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is Zion’s treasure.” Isaiah 33:2-6  The Lord is to be exalted and praised. We must give up and trust God. The saving grace of God will be the hope that we cling to.

What awaits those who choose to not trust God? What is in store for the people who  have closed their hearts and minds to the saving grace of God? There will be eternal suffering and damnation for all people who shun God. There is no sugar coating to be placed on this fact that our sin leads to death but the hope is found when trust is placed in God. Continue Reading…

When we are in need of help do we find that God is enough for us? Do you pour out your heart to God as you tell Him everything that concerns you? “I cried out to You, O Lord; I said, ‘You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living. Give heed to my cry, for I am brought very low; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me. Bring my soul out of prison, so that I may give thanks to your name; the righteous will surround me, for You will deal bountifully with me.’” Psalm 142:5-7 Continue Reading…

Is your life marked by a joyful spirit and attitude? As a follower of God we are to find our delight in serving Him. Why are we impacted in such a way by our relationship with God? “Know that the Lord Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” Psalm 100:3  We know that all we have in life is from God and an amazing peace permeates our lives because of this truth. The measure of distance is a view into your heart: Psalm 61

Is there such a thing as distance between God and His people? We equate to God on our human level because it is naturally the easiest way to view a relationship. When you are in Europe and your family is in the United States you feel the distance keenly and long for the fellowship of your loved ones. After a fight with your spouse you can feel extremely distant from them until you seek reconciliation. When you have been on a long road trip and you are heading home over hundreds of miles you will feel the distance pass very slowly as you long for the rest of home. Why do we feel distant to God at different moments in our life? God is omnipresent and He truly is never distant from us. The distance we perceive is a change in our hearts desire and focus but God has not moved away from us. Continue Reading…
