Do we ever celebrate before God with all our might? In 1 Chronicles 13 the people celebrated before God with songs, lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets and from 2 Samuel 6:14 we know that David danced for joy as the people celebrated. How do christians today celebrate before God? Can the idea of celebration mentioned in 1 Chronicles be equated with our worship today? Why does music play such an integral part of our celebration and worship of God? All too often the church today has subjects its own viewpoint upon the definition of worship of God by claiming what is correct and true worship without concern for what the Bible says. In these moments we claim the authority only God has by presuming to know what worship would be if we were God. What does the Bible say about worship? How does the greatest commandment to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength play interact in our worship of God. Continue Reading…

Passion of a young man, Joshua: Exodus 33 and 34
“Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart the tent.” Exodus 33:11 Why did Joshua not depart the tent of meeting? When Moses left the tent it states that Joshua would not depart. Is it his desire to be close to God? Did Joshua talk to God also? Is it passion to know God that motivated him? Just some questions I have. Continue Reading…
A glimpse of God is all we need: Exodus 23 and 24
I am captivated by the slight glimpse given to us the reader about what Moses, Nadab, Abihu, and the elders saw when they worshiped at a distance with God. It is amazing to think that they mention the pavement! How often would we note the pavement or floor someone is standing on as something noteworthy? We would never say that we would note clothing, hair and eye color, or whether they spoke eloquently. In this case of describing God could any words that Moses could have written done justice to the true image of God? Continue Reading…
The latest and greatest, a humorous look at amputation
So i just found out that I am going to be having surgery on this upcoming Monday the 30th. I really hope it is a morning surgery because I hate being told I can’t have breakfast or lunch… that is cruel and unusual punishment. So I suppose you may wonder why I am having surgery and what is happening. Well I have ‘interesting’ feet that have been getting fixed over the last few years. Well I ended up with a sore and infection in one of my toes on my right foot so the best course of action is to amputate the toes. Continue Reading…
God’s glory from a hardened heart: Exodus 9 and 10
I am so amazed at how God hardened Pharaoh’s heart time and time again so that through the pharaoh glory would be given to God. It is interesting how Pharaoh kept acknowledging that he was sinning and never truly meant to turn. I know that there would be no genuine repentance because God was hardening his heart to make an example. I am thankful that I am able to have forgiveness from God because of Christ’s death on the cross for me. What an amazing blessing that is.
Seeing God at work in every moment: Exodus 7 and 8
I love the reason that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart. It was for His signs and wonders to be multiplied. At first Pharaoh’s magicians were able to mimic the wonders that God did with the staff changing into a snake, the water changing to blood, and the frogs coming onto the land but when the gnats came the magician’s said that, “This is the finger of God”. How many times do we not see god’s hand in the daily events of life? Continue Reading…
Amazing truth in the presence of an amazing God
“Lord, how great is our dilemma! In Thy Presence silence best becomes us, but love inflates our hearts and constrains us to speak.
Were we to hold our peace the stones would cry out; yet if we speak what shall we say? Teach us to know that we cannot know, for the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Let faith support us where reason fails, and we shall think because we believe, not in order that we may believe.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

11 hours until then is now
Well in about 11 hours all of my excitement will come to a climax when I am able to teach sunday school. I am so very passionate about sharing God’s amazing love and provision to others. I think my greatest fear is that I would not impart all of God and none of me in what I present. I know that my excitement level has been growing steadily over the last week. I am to a point where I find it very hard to sleep. Continue Reading…
Glory to God for what He has done
Well time has gotten away from me and before I knew it it was friday night. I gave my testimony in church this last sunday. It was a great time where God was glorified. I expressed to the people all the different illnesses that I have had over the last 5 years. It was great to proclaim that God is fully in control of everything in my life. He is to be praised for all that he has done.
I read my blog titled “What’s in a foot?” out loud because I know that it is a perfect way to express everything that I have dealt with and the mindset that I have. When I read the part about my dad I started to choke up and tears ran down my face. Continue Reading…
The anthesis of human logic is Jesus Christ
I am amazed at how faithful God is to me. He knows what I need and the exact moment I need it. I have been reflecting on my current situation and I am still dumbfounded about the melancholy of it all in human terms. Yet there is no need for sadness because my Lord is in control, but I know that at times my emotions overtake my life.
Why does God use me to bring glory to Him……. That is something that I can’t fathom right now. I am nothing special. I find that God has developed a faith in my life that I never thought that I would have. Continue Reading…
