“Thus says the LORD: ‘Keep justice, and do righteousness, for soon my salvation will come, and my deliverance be revealed.’” Isaiah 56:1 The message within Isaiah 56 and 57 talks of two groups of people, those who set their hearts toward God and those who set their hearts away from God. The message proclaimed is one of urgency, devotion, and dependence. The time is drawing near when God will collect all those who have trusted, hoped, and believed in His Son, Jesus Christ. Where have you set your heart? Are you resting steadfast upon the promises of God or have you decided that your life is your own kingdom to be conquered? There is hope for everyone. Resolute and unyielding faithfulness of God: Psalm 89
The story that is proclaimed throughout the Bible is one of God’s intricate work to redeem humanity. The plan that God has enabled from eternity past is unfathomably beyond the comprehension of man. In the midst of all the unfaithfulness that is consistently present God remains faithful. In Psalm 89 the resolute and unyielding faithfulness of God to the line of David and mankind is expressed. “How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O Lord, they walk in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all the day, and by Your righteousness they are exalted. For You are the glory of their strength, and by Your favor our horn is exalted. For our shield belongs to the Lord, and our king to the Holy One of Israel.” Psalm 89:25-18 Do you thirst to know the peace found in knowing God’s faithfulness which is eternally expressed throughout the Bible? God is the litmus test for fear, hope and love
I sit here at night and I remember a girl I once loved. What triggers a memory? It is easy to get wrapped up into wishing, hoping, and dreaming of what may have happened. I know it was never meant work out but I still ache for that special love of a girl. Why is it that when you love someone deeply that you are forever marked by their memory.
Smalltown Poets wrote a song called “Hold It Up to the Light”. The song expresses the inherent fear in all of us…… What do I do? This one question applies to love, work, church, play, family, pizza, marbles, clothing, furry bunnies, anything. Every moment in our life we make decisions small and large. Instead of fearing about what to do we need to hold it up to the light. God is the ultimate litmus test in our life. He knows what is best for us. That is what I have learned about my desire for love. God said no and I have to trust that decision. God has someone for me and one day I will see that His will was best. Continue Reading…
