How is Psalm 117 valuable? What impact does this two verse psalm have upon our lives today? “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16,17 We can tend to overlook a simple two verse psalm thinking that it is not as valuable as some of the psalms that have great length or authors of great renown. If we limit ourselves to thinking that the words, thoughts and ideas of God can be measured by the views of man we are gravely overlooking the true wealth of God’s word to us. All scripture is profitable! Can you see that these two verses in Psalm 117 are boldly telling us that God is faithfully fulfilling His covenant throughout eternity. God’s faithfulness in Jubilee and hardship: Leviticus 25 and 26
The times seem so different now compared to the culture of the Israelites described in Leviticus 25 and 26. I am thankful for living in a modern society with all the amenities that I have grown accustom to but what is the cost to our relationship with God and our relationship with each other? In the agricultural of Leviticus did they feel the business of life I feel today? Can we live in dependance upon God in a truer way?
A mirror into life from reflections on God
I have been reading through all of my blog entries that I have written since 2005. The theme throughout the entries is “God is faithful and my trust, hope and being is only found in Him.” I had forgotten all of the turmoil that I went through over the years. It is amazing to feel the despairing I felt with all of my medical problems yet I never lost faith in God’s perfect will for my life. I am humbled because I am faithless!
“It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him; If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us; If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.” 2 Timothy 2:11-13
