A few thoughts about the flood. I sometimes think that the flood happened in the ancient past but I sometimes over look some key facts. People lived longer than today and if you think that Noah in modern term could have been born crossing with Columbus in 1492 and lived to see the year 2092! Think about the changes that have occurred since in the almost 600 years since Columbus… Just a few. I wonder what things Noah saw happen during his life time. It is not important to the overall story of the Bible but I think I sometime make the people of the old testament bible to not be as smart or intelligent as people today. I wonder if my thinking is backwards about that?
I love how God promises in Genesis 8:22 that as long as the Earth endures life will not cease. It is encouraging to know that a promise from God will never fade or change! How many times I have failed to live up to a promise I made. My frail humanness prevents my faithfulness but only through God can I find that faith.
